West Side of Hail Alley
What Fort Worth Hail and Tarrant County Wind Do to Shingles
Storms off the plains are often still gaining strength when they reach Fort Worth. In spring a humid afternoon meets dry air from the west, a supercell organizes, and by evening hail is bouncing off roofs from Benbrook to Saginaw. Even marble-size hail bruises the shingle mat and knocks loose the granules that shield it from the sun; the shingle looks fine from the driveway and cracks at that spot a few summers later.
Wind is the other half: Tarrant County gusts lift tabs, break the seal strip and peel back ridge caps, and the next rain drives straight under. Most Fort Worth roofs don’t fail from one dramatic event; they fail from a season of small hits nobody looked at. That’s why our post-storm roof inspection is free.
Fort Worth Roof Repair Services
The Repairs We Do Most in Tarrant County
Hail-Bruised Shingles
Bruised, granule-stripped shingles replaced in a matching color, or documented for a claim.
Wind-Lifted Tabs
Lifted and creased tabs re-sealed or replaced, missing shingles restored, ridge caps re-secured.
Chimney & Wall Flashing
Step and counter flashing at chimneys and sidewalls re-cut, re-set and sealed so water stops finding the gap.
Pipe Boots & Vents
Cracked rubber boots and rusted vent flashings are the most common Fort Worth leak we find, and the quickest to fix.
Valleys
Worn or hail-hit valley metal and shingles rebuilt so the roof’s busiest water path drains clean.
Storm-Damaged Decking
Soft or cracked decking cut out and replaced with new sheathing before the shingles go back on.
How We Diagnose
Attic First, Then the Roof, Then a Photo Report
A ceiling stain rarely sits directly under the hole; water runs down rafters and along the decking before it drops, so chasing a leak from outside alone puts caulk in the wrong places. We start in the attic, tracing the stain up-slope to where the water actually enters, then confirm it on the roof: a lifted tab, a split boot, a backed-out nail, an open flashing corner.
Everything we find goes into a photo report you can read on your phone before deciding anything, each photo labeled as repair now, watch it, or worth a claim conversation. You keep the report whether or not you hire us.
Repair Day
What a Fort Worth Roof Repair Visit Looks Like
Most single-issue repairs are finished in one visit, usually within a few hours. The crew arrives with matched shingles, flashing and boots on the truck, pulls the damaged shingles back to sound roofing, replaces any wet decking, and weaves the new shingles into the existing courses so the repair sheds water with the rest of the slope. You get a walkthrough and after photos before we leave.
Larger jobs — a whole slope of hail damage, or rotted framing behind a chimney — are scheduled as multi-day work with a written scope. Weather rules the schedule: we don’t open a roof ahead of a storm and crews don’t work roofs after dark, so if rain is coming we’ll pick the next dry window with you.
Repair or Replace?
Where the Line Falls
A repair makes sense when the damage is local and the rest of the roof has years left: a failed boot, a flashing leak on an otherwise sound roof. Replacement starts to win when hail has bruised most slopes, granule loss is widespread, or the roof has been patched more than once. On a close call you get both numbers. See our roof replacement page, and ask about financing if a new roof comes sooner than planned.
Hail Claims
Repairing Through Insurance
If a covered storm damaged the roof, the repair may cost you only your deductible — provided the damage is documented well. We mark and photograph every hit, write the scope plainly, and meet your adjuster on the roof. Our insurance claims page walks through the process. If the claim replaces a slope or the whole roof, ask about impact-resistant shingles: Class 4 products take repeated hail far better, and many Texas carriers discount premiums for them.
When Water Is Coming In Now
Fast Storm Response and Honest Emergency Tarping
When a storm has opened your roof and water is dripping inside, the first job is stopping the water, not finishing the repair. We respond fast after Fort Worth storms and put active leaks at the front of the line. The crew secures a proper tarp and photographs the damage first so the tarp doesn’t hurt your claim.
Then the permanent repair gets scheduled. Plainly: crews do not work roofs at night or in active lightning, and a wet roof is no place to install shingles. Tarp first, let it dry, repair it right. Call (866) 625-1977 for a real answer about timing, not a promise we can’t keep.

Fort Worth Roof Repair Questions
What Tarrant County Homeowners Ask About Repairs
How much does roof repair cost in Fort Worth?
Most straightforward Fort Worth repairs — a pipe boot, a few wind-lifted shingles, re-sealing a flashing corner — land roughly in the $300–$900 range. Bigger jobs like a chimney flashing rebuild, valley work, or replacing storm-damaged decking more often land roughly $1,000–$3,000. Those are ballpark figures, not a quote. For comparison, most Fort Worth asphalt replacements land roughly $9,000–$22,000, so a sound repair is usually the far cheaper path.
Can you match my existing shingles?
Usually close, rarely perfect. Shingles fade in the Texas sun, so a new bundle in the same color reads a shade darker until it weathers in. We bring samples and pick the nearest match; on a visible front slope we may suggest repairing the full slope.
My ceiling is stained but the roof looks fine. Is it really a roof leak?
Sometimes it isn’t. A clogged AC condensate line, a sweating duct, or a plumbing vent joint can stain a ceiling exactly like a roof leak. That’s why we start in the attic: the water trail tells us whether it came through the roof or from something inside, and if it isn’t a roofing problem we’ll say so.
Should I file a hail claim for a small repair?
Look at your deductible first. If the repair estimate is close to or under it, paying out of pocket is often simpler; if hail has damaged a whole slope or more, a claim usually makes sense. We give you the written repair number first so you can decide before contacting your carrier.
How long will a roof repair last?
A repair done with matched materials and proper flashing should last as long as the shingles around it. If the surrounding shingles are brittle or worn, we’ll tell you the repair is buying time so you can plan a replacement on your own schedule.
Will you tarp my roof even if another company does the permanent repair?
Yes. Emergency tarping is a standalone service: our job in that moment is to stop the water and document the damage. There’s no obligation to have us do the repair.
