A modified bitumen roof is built, not simply unrolled. We start with a sound, dry deck and the right insulation to hit your energy target and move water toward the drains. From there we lay a base sheet, then one or more cap sheets, bonding each ply so the assembly acts as a unit. The top cap often carries a mineral-granule surface that shields the asphalt from UV and adds walkability.
